See Kathy Kuo Home On “George To The Rescue”
Hi cuties! With the holiday season in full swing, I wanted to a take a moment to shine a light on a recent project that we had the joy of being a part of that will surely remind you of the true spirit of the season. In late fall of this year, we were able to be a part of a very wonderful episode of the NBC series “George to the Rescue.”
“If you’re not familiar with “George to the Rescue,” it’s a home makeover show with a really sweet twist: Host and contractor George Oliphant and his team of experts and pros give surprise renovations for deserving families facing unique challenges. It’s honestly the definition of a “feel-good” show.”
George is a true professional and always does an amazing job, not just with the physical renovations and home refreshes, but also in making the oh-so-deserving families he works with feel special and taken care of.
A Bronx Family Gets a Joyful & Future-Focused Makeover
If there’s one thing I love more than interior design, it’s using interior design to give back in meaningful ways! When I heard from the “George to the Rescue” team–including my friends and design industry peers at Meyer Davis–that deserving NYC family was going to be on the show and that they were in need of the perfect living room swivel chair, I jumped at the opportunity to donate and get involved!
Here’s a little bit about the featured family: Bronx-based cancer-survivor and super-dad Shane, along with his wife Kara and their adorable kids Mattea and Phinn, have courageously made it through Shane’s challenging journey of treatment for stage 4 colon cancer–and they were ready to refresh their city apartment in a way that reflects how excited they are for their family’s future.

Chic Swivel Chairs & Warm Hearts
I mean…c’mon! I’m pretty sure you can’t watch the episode without tearing up and just wanting this sweet and courageous family to have the apartment of their dreams! I really felt all the warm-and-fuzzies being able to contribute to this “George to the Rescue” project–I love the way the swivel chair looks in this home and I can already picture it being a part of so many future family memories for Shane, Kara, and their kids.
